Any experience using 5-HTP?

I read a book that promised life change with this supplement. i started on it today and wondered if anyone have used this and had any experiences, righteous bad or dull. according to this book, it's supposed to raise serotonin which regulates mood, especially anxiety and depression. gratitude.

I used it a few times, but it didn't seem to do anything conscientious. Although maybe if it be used regularly it would do something. By the way, an uncomplicated way to increase serotonin level is to eat turkey because it contains tryptophan, a precursor to serotonin.
Did not enjoy good results. It made me turn upside down for goats for companionship.
My mother in canon and both sister in law swear by it.
